Song of the day – April 11
Have I ever told you just how obsessed with coconut I am? Here are two prime examples.
Exhibit 1: “Hawaian Cookies”. Found them yesterday in Jolee Supermarket, down the street. I was actually looking for tea or something boring like that, but the cookies’ shiny yellow package and bold “island” design completely distracted me. “Eat me,” it whispered, all suave coconut-sounding. “You know you want to.” It’s a true miracle there were any left when I reached the house, three blocks away. Scandalous joy, for $1,29.
Exhibit 2: Today’s Song of the day, Senor Coconut’s take on Kraftwerk’s legendary “Showroom Dummies” (aka ‘We are the robots’). Tell me if this tropical cover version doesn’t make you wish you were at some tiki beach bar doing the hula-hoop in slowmotion while agitating two coconut maracas. Or maybe it’s just my brain that works like that.
