Song of the day – March 29

Redman & Method Man, in crispy Adidas
Seeing I seem to be on procrastination roll (I mean, I just finished washing the bathroom floor), I think I’m going to go right ahead and disclose my life-time crush on Method Man instead of writing the (evil) media ethics paper I’m supposed to be handing in tomorrow.
Sorry, Ethics Paper, but Method’s verse on the brand new “City Lights” (with Redman and Bun-B) got me all hot and bothered, reactivating an infatuation dating back to a certain canary-yellow auto-reverse “Sports” Walkman I used to rock in the back of the school bus.
In keeping with my habit of being totally wild about things that leave most sane people relatively indifferent (crunchy peanut butter, turquoise pants, winter jogging), I’ve always had a special thing for Method Man, who definitely wasn’t everybody’s favorite Wu-Tang ingredient.
But for me, something inside my brain melted when I first heard “All I need” (the original album version on Tical, with the weird baby dinosaur roar sounds – not the full-fromage Mary J. Blige remix), and Method’s suave delivery and potent lyrics soon annihilated my ability to think critically about his music. And judging from this joint, it appears that the puppy love, fifteen years later, is still going strong.

WHOOO! Meth and red back at it again! feels good to see them on a track together…even if this song is based on capitalist objectives. As a matter of fact, ADIDAS brought them together for this song and shooting for their new web landing page. ()
Great song by the way. I love the way Red used the autotune. You can feel hes havin fun…compared to some other rappers too serious about this bullshit voice effect!
Big up tu Meth and red!PEACE
