This is the first of a hopefully long and exciting string of “Song of the day” posts.
The “Song of the day” ritual goes way back. It started when I was a kid and I couldn’t get a song out of my head. I would hum it and sing it all day long till everyone went bananas. Today, there’s Youtube. Throngs of past roommates remember these catchy yet ephemeral hits with equal parts exasperation and nostalgia. This feature is partly dedicated to them.
My “Song of the day” will always be something that is currently jammed on repeat on my sound system and that I just can’t get enough of. The kind of song you can really get into for a day. And then move on to the next banger.
So tune in daily for your daily dose of cherry-picked beats. It promises to be an eventful ride.
